Send a message to another member

There are a few ways you can message other members:

1) By private messaging

To access your messages inbox, click the in-tray icon in the main menu:

You'll be taken through to a page that operates like an email inbox.

You can compose a new message by clicking the compose icon:

In the 'To' field, start typing the name of the member you're trying to message, and suggestions will come up in the dropdown list:

Select the member from the list, and their name will appear with a green background. You can send a message to multiple members:

To remove a member, click the 'x' beside their name.

Once you've selected the members you'd like to communicate with, you can compose your message in the box below:

Then hit Enter to send your message. You can send photos by clicking the little camera icon.

The members will receive an email notification to say you’ve sent them a message, providing they have email notifications switched on. For more about sending messages to other members see this article.

If you're looking at a member's profile page, you can also send them a message from there by clicking the 3 dots and selecting ' send message'.

2) By  ‘@mentioning’ other members in comments on photos, or in the forum

When you're leaving a comment anywhere in the website, you can use the @ symbol followed by a members’ nickname to ‘mention’ them. Provided they have email notifications switched on they should receive an email to say they’ve been mentioned.
