How to paint along with the videos
It's all about finding what works best for you, and different members choose to use the tutorials differently.
We recommend:
- WATCH A SECTION AT A TIME...
The Step-by-Step Tutorials come as a series of 4-7 video ‘parts’, and Short Tutorials can be as short as 1 video part. Watch each part in order and pause the video after each section (section timings are also listed under each video so they’re easy to find) - THEN REFER TO THE SUPPLIED REFERENCE PHOTO AS YOU PAINT...
Once you’ve watched a section, have a go at that stage yourself.
When working on realistic paintings or drawings, make sure you paint what you see in the reference photo in the PDF, rather than just copying the marks as Anna makes them in the video. Only by viewing the reference photo for yourself can you start to tune it to seeing what it is you need to see in order to paint for yourself.
View the Reference Photo PDF on a screen (iPad or computer) when you use it to paint from
This will ensure the colours are reproduced well and you have the advantage of being able to ‘zoom in’ on the photo to see more detail (especially important when working at a larger size. If you’re doing that, be sure to view the largest version of the PDF supplied for the tutorial you’re working on).
