Permanent Alizarin Crimson

Pigment number: PR206

This is a dark red that's a little bit duller, so a little bit more brown and darker than Permanent Carmine when it dries. Therefore, it's a really useful paint for deepening and enriching other reds such as Scarlet Lake.

Recommended Substitutes

Anna used to use Permanent Alizarin Crimson more than Permanent Carmine but more recently favours this Permanent Carmine as it's a little brighter. They are essentially interchangeable though so you can use this if you don't have Permanent Carmine and vice versa.
